Brandon Goldner is an award-winning multimedia journalist for NBC Charlotte who primarily covers Gaston, Lincoln and Catawba counties.
Before joining NBC Charlotte in March 2016, Brandon spent more than two years working for WNCT, the CBS-affiliate in Greenville, North Carolina where he was named “TV News Multimedia Journalist of the Year” for Division II by the Radio Television Digital News Association of the Carolinas.
While at WNCT, Brandon filed multiple investigations which led to the shutdown of illegal sweepstakes operations, exposed lapses in North Carolina’s tanning inspection program and revealed how a vital Greenville road had deficiencies causing traffic congestion.
A graduate of the University of Maryland’s Philip Merrill College of Journalism, Brandon worked for the school’s multimedia news operation, Capital News Service, as an anchor, general assignment/investigative reporter and producer.
There, he served as a lead reporter in a five-month groundbreaking investigative report into sea level rise in the state of Maryland, took an in-depth look at trends of crime and mental illness among veterans and won four regional student Emmys for his work.
Brandon’s also spent time reporting for KVRR-TV in Fargo, North Dakota and Voice of America in Washington, D.C.
When he’s not reporting, you can often find Brandon at a coffee house drinking his favorite coffee and reading the newspaper.
