Ann Sheridan, Reporter
Ann Sheridan joined WCNC in 1997. Prior to working with the WCNC Family, Ann worked for another Charlotte TV station. She also anchored and did health reporting for WXII in Winston-Salem.
During her time in Charlotte, Ann has covered some of the biggest stories in our city such as the crash of US Airways Flight #1016, the Susan Smith trial, the Ray Carruth trial, the Tim Hayes story and Super Bowl XXXVIII.
In 2004 Ann won an Emmy for Non-Hard News, and two Edward R. Murrow awards for reporting and writing. Prior to that, she was nominated for three Emmy awards and won the Journalism Award of Excellence from the American College of Emergency Physicians.
Ann graduated from the American University in Washington, D.C. with a degree in journalism. She also studied abroad in Italy with Duke University.
In her years at WCNC, Ann has worked part-time so that she can spend time with her husband and three young children. As she puts it, "I have the best job in television! I love what I do and feel very fortunate that I can work and still have time to take my kids to soccer games, Scout meetings and swim meets!"
