HODGES, S.C. -- FYI, Basjoos is pronounced "Bazz-juice." He told me what that means. It's um, banana juice or coconut grease or cumquat pulp, something like that. It made sense at the time. Now as I write this I'm confused.

Anyway, Basjoos is a screen name on this website called for this guy Mike Turner who took a 1992 Honda Civic and doubled its gas mileage.

Yes. He cut his weekly gasoline expenses in half. Sweet! (As sweet as Basjoos, I imagine.)

I know gas prices are low again, today, and probably won't go up to $4 a gallon again tomorrow, but next year who knows? The year after that? 2015? Let's face it, we're likely seeing the lowest gas prices for the rest of our lives right now. So with an eye to the future we hooked up with Basjoos!

He's hilarious in his own way. Sort of an engineer geek who just had to see how much gas mileage he could squeeze out of his 1992 Honda. It helped that he was commuting from South Carolina to Asheville, N.C., for work every day.

We explain it all in the story. You have to see this car and watch the looks Mike "Basjoos" Turner gets when he drives around. Priceless.

And -- here's the important part -- you could do the same to your car. There's only one minor drawback. You have to be an utterly self-confident person to pull it off. Because the car is not sexy. Not even close. It's geeky weird funny. If you're insecure about your identity, your place in life, you can just watch the story and enjoy!

But if you think you might want to modify your car here's the link again to get in touch with the peeps who can help (search for "basjoos"): .
