Rachel Brown is an Emmy-nominated journalist.
Rachel joined the NBC Charlotte news team in June of 2016. Before moving to the Queen City, Rachel served as an anchor and reporter at WBND- ABC57 News in South Bend, Indiana.
Rachel began her journalism career at WBBM –CBS Chicago. During her time there she field produced, web produced, and worked as a writer for the weekday newscasts.
Growing up on Chicago’s South Side, Rachel was always fascinated with news and current events happening throughout the city.
She is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, receiving a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism and also holds a master’s degree in communication management from Northwestern University.

Outside of the newsroom, she is passionate about kids, volunteering weekly as a Child Life Specialist at Levine Children’s Hospital. Rachel also loves the Charlotte food scene and gladly accepts any restaurant recommendations.
