Rachel Rollar joined NBC Charlotte in April 2015. You can catch her anchoring the first newscast of the day at 4:30 a.m. After that she’ll help make sure you get to work and the kids get to school on time with her traffic reports from 5 - 7 a.m.
In her first few months in Charlotte, Rachel has covered national stories such as, the Carolina coast shark attacks and the horrific Charleston church shooting.
Before heading to the Queen City she worked in the Lone Star State for two and a half years anchoring three evening newscasts in three different markets ranging from Texas to Louisiana. While based in Texas, she was one of two reporters embedded with the National Guard in La Place, LA covering a high water rescue during Hurricane Isaac.
Rachel was born and raised in South Florida and graduated from Florida State University with a bachelor's degree in media communications.
She couldn't be happier to be in a "southern state of mind" with her puppy, Mr. Caldwell. She enjoys outdoor running, hates treadmills, loves yoga, prefers tapas and seeks out local coffee shops. (She needs all the caffeine she can get on this dark and early schedule!)
