Xavier Walton joined the NBC Charlotte news team as a Multi-Media Journalist in June of 2015. He currently anchors the weekend 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts.

Xavier comes from KTWO-TV, the ABC affiliate in Casper, WY. He worked in the "Cowboy State" as an anchor/reporter for three years. He was named Reporter of the Year in 2013 by the Wyoming Association of Broadcasters. He also took home the second place trophy in Dancing with the Stars of Casper.

Before moving to Wyoming, Xavier earned his communication degree at California Lutheran University. While attending CLU, he also played on the basketball team. He was the starting point-guard three out of the four years he played.

Xavier grew up in Sacramento, CA, which he considers home, but has family ties in North Carolina as well. His father was born in N.C. and his grandmother graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill. Go Heels!

Xavier is curious by nature. He absolutely loves telling stories. He feels broadcasting is a way to affect lives by keeping the public informed. One of Xavier's favorite parts of being a journalist is how unpredictable each day is.

When he's not working, Xavier loves to travel and experience new places. He's literally gone coast to coast after moving to the Queen City. He can't wait to see what North Carolina has to offer.
