CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Amazon is delaying its announcement of the short list of candidates, according to the Charlotte Regional Partnership.

Many expected Amazon to announce their list of front-runner cities Friday, but it appears city officials from around the country will have to wait until early 2018, according to reports.

"We want to again express our appreciation to everyone across our 16 county region for their support in what has been an example of public and private collaboration and cooperation at its finest," the Charlotte Regional Partner said in a press release.
