LORDSBURG, N.M. - A dust storm near the New Mexico-Arizona border is being blamed for a fatal crash involving at least 25 vehicles.

The storm, according to authorities, moved in "abruptly" limiting visibility on westbound I-10.

Authorities say the Monday evening pileup killed six people, with five dying at the scene and one dying after being taken to a nearby medical facility.

Among those killed were a 9-month-old baby, 29-year-old woman and 30-year-old man, all from Phoenix.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety assisted New Mexico State Police with traffic control overnight. The I-10 was reopened Tuesday after a lengthy closure.

Authorities say the crash is still under investigation.
