The Cobb County father accused of leaving his 22-month-old to die in a hot car will stand trial more than two years after the incident took place.
Ross Harris is facing numerous charges, including malice murder, felony murder and cruelty to children, in the death of his young son, Cooper.
The boy was found in the back seat of Harris’ SUV back in June 2014. Harris claimed it was a tragic accident.
In April, the trial was relocated 300 miles away from Cobb County to Brunswick, Ga. after it was determined an impartial jury would not be found locally.
A final pool of 45 jurors was selected back on September 22. The next step in the process is for attorneys from both sides to exact their peremptory strikes, as a process of elimination to find 12 jurors with four alternates.
The hope now is to strike a jury and begin opening statements on Monday, October 3.
