A Charlotte Mecklenburg Police officer was the victim of a hit-and-run Monday, according to CMPD.
It happened around 2:40 p.m. near Walsh Boulevard and Johnston Road in the Pineville area. Authorities said a car hit an officer conducting an investigation and speaking to people in another vehicle. The officer was not hurt.
CMPD officers were then asked to be on the lookout for the suspect's vehicle, which they said was later found after being involved in another hit-and-run on I-85 south near the weigh station.
Police said all the people inside the vehicle jumped out and ran away. None of the other drivers involved in that hit and run were hurt.
The U.S. National Whitewater Center was placed on lockdown while officers searched for the suspects, who were found by K9 in a wooded area.

17-year-old Brooke Humphries, 21-year-old Iva Jaroush and 19-year-old Savon Riddick are each charged with resist obstruct delay a public officer.
