HARRISBURG, N.C. – A local family’s pet was rescued after Harrisburg firefighters saved the day Wednesday.
According to Harrisburg Fire officials, emergency crews were dispatched to the 5400 block of River Falls Drive for an animal rescue. When firefighters arrived, they found a cat stuck near the bottom of a chimney in a two-story home.
To aid with the rescue, Animal Control and Cabarrus County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the scene.

Crews worked for about 30 minutes before freeing the cat from an opening in the wall.
