CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Hundreds of people in the Charlotte community are coming together to save a popular movie theater.

Park Terrace Stadium is set to close this weekend. The theater dates back to 1964, making it one of the oldest in the Queen City. It’s not clear why the theater is closing, or what’s going to take its place.

“We’ll miss it,” said one person. “It’s really sad. People get tired of going to the huge multiplexes, they pay a lot of money and it’s just — driving, finding parking. It’s a local theater, part of our neighborhood, we’ll miss it.”

More than 1,000 people have signed an online petition to keep the theater open. If you want to sign it, too, you can do so by clicking here.
