CLEVELAND COUNTY, N.C. -- Deputies are searching for a man who is suspected of shooting another man during a card game in Cleveland County.
According to the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office, a man was visiting his cousin at a residence on Darth Maul Drive in Grover. During a card game between a group of individuals, an altercation broke out between the man and 23-year-old Raheim Huskey.
During the altercation, Huskey shot the man in the stomach and fled the scene. Deputies suspect that Huskey also robbed the man as an item was reportedly taken away during the incident.
Deputies say Huskey will be charged with attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and robbery with a dangerous weapon once he is located.
The man suffered minor injuries from the shooting, deputies say.
Cleveland County Sheriff Alan Norman said deputies have been struggling to get the man to cooperate on the investigation.
"I would like our citizens to contemplate why a victim would not assist us in every way possible when someone had just tried to kill him," Norman said.
