CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Police are looking to identify a possible witness to a murder northeast of uptown Tuesday morning.

Around 3:30, officers responded to the 1500 block of North Tryon Street where a man was found suffering an apparent trauma; the victim was taken to the hospital where he later died. The victim's identity has not yet been released.

Tuesday evening, police announced they'd arrested and charged Kevin Hedgepeth in connection with the man's murder.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say they're looking to identify the man pictured as he may have witnessed the assault.

Police say the man is known to frequent the area of North Tryon Street and Dalton Avenue.
