CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Detectives in east Charlotte are investigating after they said multiple suspects broke into Albemarle Road Middle School early Tuesday.

According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, officers responded to the school just before 3 a.m. in reference to an alarm call. When police arrived at the school, CMPD said they found that multiple subjects broke in by smashing some windows.

Once inside, CMPD said the suspects went into several classrooms and destroyed school property and burned textbooks.

CMPD said two juveniles were apprehended by officers as they were trying to flee the scene. The suspects have not been identified.
