UNION COUNTY, N.C. – A reward of $10,000 is up for grabs for anyone who can provide information that would lead to an arrest in the deadly stabbing of an 87-year-old Union County man.
Thursday, Governor Roy Cooper announced the state is offering up a $5,000 reward for information. Soon after, Crime Stoppers announced they would be matching the reward, bringing the total to $10,000.
On September 6, 2017, the Union County Sheriff's Office responded to a call of a welfare check after a worker of 87-year-old Sim Augusta Flowe tried to knock on Flowe's door but no one answered.
Upon arrival, deputies found Flowe dead inside his Indian Trial home on Gribble Road suffering from multiple stab wounds.
According to police, robbery appears to be the motive.
