CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police tells NBC Charlotte a man who was wanted in connection with a series of armed robbery was taken into custody Tuesday.
CMPD charged 35-year-old Lucas Hawkinson in connection with holding up seven local businesses.
Back on December 7, CMPD was searching for a man who entered a Subway in the 4300 block of Park Road a little before 5 p.m. Officers at the time were told that a white male entered the restaurant and robbed a clerk at gunpoint. The suspect then fled the restaurant.
The suspect was linked to six other armed robberies, according to CMPD. The suspect's alleged crimes have occurred all throughout the city over the course of a three-week span.
Officials did not release the specifics on Hawkinson's charges. He will be in court Wednesday afternoon.
