CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Two individuals were charged for their involvement in the armed robbery of a local business.

According to CMPD, officers were called to the Skillz Biz Center on Independence Boulevard Monday in reference to an armed robbery.

Upon arrival, officers say they were told that a black male and female entered the business and held up the employee overseeing the front register by gunpoint. The suspects reportedly fled the scene in a white Pontiac Grand Prix.

A short time later, officers say they located the vehicle and took in 27-year-old Tyree Belk and 24-year-old Gina Cathcart.

Police say a search of Belk and Cathcart's hotel room revealed the business' stolen money along with several firearms.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.

CMPD later charged Belk for his role in two additional robberies of Nick's Arcade and Top Dawg Sweepstakes.
