CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police is investigating after a man was found shot to death in a car in east Charlotte early Saturday.

According to CMPD, officers were dispatched to inbound Independence Boulevard near the Briar Creek exit just before 4 a.m. When officers arrived on scene, they found a vehicle that struck the median with a man inside the car that was suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim, identified as 43-year-old Everette Thomas Lynn, was pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics.
