Mooresville man charged with sexually assaulting children

A Mooresville man was arrested in connection with allegations that he sexually abused two children over the course of 16 years.

IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. – A Mooresville man was arrested in connection with allegations that he sexually abused two children over the course of 16 years.

According to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office, a report was filed on December 30, 2017 in reference to a child being sexually assaulted by a family member. The victim said she was assaulted multiple times between August and December of 2017 by 54-year-old Robert Mark Moose.

During the course of the investigation, detectives were able to identify a second victim alleging that Moose sexually assaulted them between November 2001 and February 2005.

Detectives charged Moose with 12 counts of felony indecent liberties with a child, 10 counts of statutory rape of a child and two counts of felony statutory rape/sexual offense with a child. He was arrested and taken to the Iredell County jail where he was given a $1.5 million bond.
