CHARLOTTE, N.C. – One person is in police custody after shots were fired at a vehicle on I-85 in west Charlotte Thursday morning.
According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, officers responded to a call of a reported shooting on Glenwood Drive at I-85. The victim told police the suspect shot at him while driving on I-85 around 6 a.m.
Officers were able to locate the suspect, identified as Robert Scott Gaston, 54, nearby and he was detained. Gaston was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and carrying a concealed weapon in connection with the incident.
No one was injured, police said.
