BURKE COUNTY, N.C. -- Police are searching for a man after the victim of a gunshot wound overturned his car and told police who shot him.
Witnesses told deputies Sunday that they had heard gunshots and saw two vehicles leave the parking lot of Knob Superette in Connelly Springs.
According to police, they found a vehicle overturned a short time later on Berea Church Road not far from the parking lot. Within the overturned car, police found a handgun and sawed-off .20 gauge shotgun.
No one was found in the car and a handgun was located in the roadway.
While at the scene, police were informed Buddy Cook had arrived at Carolina Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Police say Cook told them he was shot by Matthew Revis.
The Burke County Sheriff's Office has issued a warrant on Revi.
