LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. -- A search warrant for a stolen cell phone led police to find a 6-year-old living in an apartment with three adults and illegal drugs.

Lincoln County Deputies served a search warrant for a stolen cell phone at a residence on th 4900 block of Stratford Lane Monday. The warrant was obtained after the owner of the phone reported it had been delivered to the address, where she formerly lived, and a woman their signed her name for delivery.

During the search, the cell phone was discovered. However, deputies also found methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia in an apartment occupied by three adults and a six-year-old.

The Department of Social Services was contacted and the child was turned over to his mother.

McKenzie Brooke Sherrill, 25, was charged with one felony count of obtaining property by false pretenses, possession of controlled substance along with child abuse.
