YORK COUNTY, S.C. -- A popular family sit down restaurant was robbed at gunpoint, and the three men responsible are still on the loose.
It happened around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Waffle House on Regent Parkway in Fort Mill.
Surveillance videos showed a man armed with a gun jumping over the counter as two others rush to the cash register.
In a matter of seconds, a Waffle House cook was down on the floor with a gun pointed his head. The waitress was forced to fork over whatever cash was in the register. Then the hooded suspects ran out.
Leading up to the robbery, police say those three men sat down and even ordered food. When the cook started to prepare it, that’s when they decided to strike.
People who eat at the Regent Parkway Waffle House a lot say they are now feeling uneasy.
“That’s crazy. And I hope they get the person,” one woman said.
“People need to carry more guns,” another man exclaimed.
Customers said this time of year is supposed to be when you see the best in people, not the worst.
“It’s sad," said one customer. Especially around the holiday time, you think people have a little more sympathy.”
The suspects were seen leaving in a silver or gold Ford Crown Victoria or Mercury Marquis.
