'We're going to get you' | New clues emerge in brazen armed robbery at convenience store

The original surveillance video showed the inside of the Mini Mart when a man armed with a gun assaulted a clerk in front of her 4-year-old grandson. "We're going to get you," said the police captain.

GASTON COUNTY, N.C. -- Lowell Police released a new video of the suspects involved in a violent armed robbery.

The Lowell Mini Mart was hit by an armed robber after 7 p.m. Sunday. The original surveillance video showed the inside of the Mini Mart when a man armed with a gun assaulted a clerk in front of her 4-year-old grandson.

Lowell Police Captain Carl Moore said police now believe the suspect and his accomplice in the getaway car went into the Quality Service Center convenience store across the street before following through with the brazen attack.

“We believe they left there and went straight across to Lowell Mini Mart and committed the robbery,” Moore said.

The new surveillance footage released shows the two suspects walking into the Quality Service Center. Moore said he believed the first male suspect was limping as he came in the door because he was concealing a gun.

The video then shows the two heading to the bathroom area of the store. Moore said police believe the two suspects were casing the Quality Service Center but ultimately left because there were too many people inside.

Moore said the tips are coming in and police are hopeful someone will be able to positively identify the suspects.

Gastonia Police have already recovered what is believed to be the stolen getaway car, he added.

“We’re going to get you,” Moore said. “Sooner or later the police will find them and bring them to justice.”
