YORK, S.C. – Police in York are on the lookout for a man accused of shooting and seriously injuring another man on Saturday.

According to the York Police Department, officers responded to a shooting on McClain Street a little before 1 p.m. Before arriving on the scene, officers were notified that a 45-year-old man had arrived at the police station suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital where he is listed in critical, but stable condition.

Detectives say that witnesses said three black males were seen running from the scene of the shooting and identified the shooter as Antwain Lamaries Letim Carter, 26, of York. Additional authorities were called to the scene to establish a perimeter, but officers were unable to locate the three men.

Warrants have been obtained for Carter’s arrest for attempted murder.
