CHARLOTTE, NC -- Kids heading off to college next year got a little help with their financial aid forms on Saturday due to “FAFSA Day” (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), a statewide day in North Carolina.
Several colleges around the state with help from the College Foundation of North Carolina, opened their doors for students with questions about financial aid.
“When you don’t know exactly what you’re going to qualify for... all schools are different, and some schools have more institutional money than others... you want to make sure you do it just so that you find out, make sure you’re being considered for everything,” said Timika Ruffin with the College Foundation of North Carolina.
If you missed Saturday's help sessions, the foundation says you could still get help from your local high school guidance counselor or local college financial aid office.
The State Employees Credit Union will also be helping students out on December 5.
