Friday, March 17
“Kegs and Eggs” at Galway Hooker: Friday, March 17th, starting at 8 a.m. Indoor and outdoor activities all day, raffles, live music, games and more. Free.
St. Patrick’s Day on Main: Friday, March 17th, 4:00pom to 9:00pm. Free. This festival in Rock Hill is worth the drive. Irish music and dancing on the stage, amusement area for kids, vendors.
St. Patrick’s Day Party at Cabarrus Brewing Co.: Live music from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. with Jim Sharkey. This is part of a three day first birthday party for Cabarrus Brewing Company, from Friday, March 17th, to Sunday, March 19th. It’s free to attend and open to the whole family. There will be live music every day, giveaways, beer release, and, on Food Truck Friday on March 17th.
Shake Your Shamrocks: 4 p.m. to 12 p.m. at Piedmont Social House, 2135 Ayrsley Town Boulevard. Live music, beer pong tournament, corn hole, ping pong, bocce ball. A leprechaun will be there. If you can answer his riddles he’ll give you a chocolate coin. Free admission.
St. Patrick’s Day Weekend Extravaganza: The Broken Spoke’s celebration takes place Friday, March 17th, through Sunday, March 19th. Live music, free phone calls to Ireland, lots of food and drink specials. Follow link for details and hours. Free admission.
Shamrock ‘n the Village: At Ballantyne Village, gather from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. for live music, games, giveaways and more. Free.
Saturday, March 18
Charlotte Goes Green Festival: Saturday, March 18th, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Free. Popular festival in Uptown Charlotte. There’s lots of entertainment, vendors and a kids’ amusement area.
St. Patrick’s Day Parade: Saturday, March 18th, 11:00 a.m. Free. The parade draws over 70,000 spectators. It steps off from Tryon and 9th Streets.
St. Patrick’s Day Dog Pawty: Saturday, March 19th, 1 p.m. to 5 p .m. $5 gets you admission, one drink and a raffle ticket. Bring the dogs to The Dog Bar in NoDa for this bash. It’s a fundraiser for Great Danes Friends of Ruff Love, a rescue organization for Great Danes.
Leaping Leprechauns: Search for Leprechauns at Reedy Creek Nature Preserve. If you find them all, you win a prize. Intended for kids age 5-10. Free.
St. Patrick’s Day Treasure Hunt: This is a free self-guided treasure hunt at McDowell Nature Preserve. Drop in any time between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Free.
