CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Searching for the perfect way to see those beautiful Carolina fall colors? The 2016 Carolina BalloonFest Hot Air Balloon Festival offers a fun-filled way to celebrate fall from the sky.
Over 50 hot air balloonists will arrive and take to the Iredell skies Friday through Sunday, October 23.
With live entertainment, wine and craft beer tasting, a magic show, art tents and food vendors the festival offers something for everyone, even those who are not too keen on heights.
Hot-air balloon fanatics can enjoy unique balloon shapes, a balloon learning center, meet and greets with balloon pilots and balloon rides.
The festival offers both sky balloon rides and tethered balloon rides, where the balloon is fastened to the ground.
Tickets for sky balloon rides are priced at $250 per passenger and can be purchased online. According to the festival's website, balloon rides depend on weather. Rides are best following sunrise and approximately two hours after sunset because they move with the air.
The festival location is near Statesville Regional Airport at 260 Hangar Drive, Statesville, North Carolina.
