Viral Charlotte mother spreads inspiration with unique workout

A Charlotte mother who gained national attention last year is continuing to spread inspiration for mothers.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A Charlotte mother who gained national attention last year is continuing to spread inspiration for mothers.

Emily Breeze Ross Watson went viral in 2016 after posting a video of working out while pregnant. The video garnered both applause and criticism and launched Watson into the national spotlight with various news organizations covering her story and an appearance on NBC's Today Show.

"It was incredible. He was in my belly, so he was along for the ride," Watson says of her fitness routine going viral. "Just to be able to show people what our bodies are capable of and trusting your health and fitness and how important it is while pregnant."

Today, Watson continues to have her baby boy in tow while working out.

She incorporates 10-month-old Bly Watson into her exercises, such as lifting him with squats and playing with him while doing sit ups.

"It was a natural progression since I did it while he was inside the belly, I thought it'd be good for him to see this is what his mom is made of and I want him to live that healthy lifestyle as well," Watson says.

As for the balancing act that all mothers face, Watson has some advice.

"Get rid of the 'mom guilt.' We all have it of some sort but it's very important to take care of yourself so you have that balance with your relationship with your spouse, your relationship with your children and your relationship with self."

Watson hosts a weekly boot camp with NFL great Randy Moss that is free and open to the public. The camp is every Monday and Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at Stax.
