Livingstone College locked down during shots fired investigation

Campus police took charge of the the investigation with Salisbury Police assisting.

ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. -- A college in Rowan County was on lockdown Wednesday night while police investigated a call for shots fired.

It happened at Livingstone College on W. Monroe St. in Salisbury. Campus police were in charge of the the investigation.

Salisbury Police told NBC Charlotte there was an active scene as of 10:45 p.m. Just after 11 p.m., the lockdown was lifted.

NBC Charlotte confirmed the suspect was not a Livingstone College student. No injuries or arrests were reported.
