GADSDEN, S.C. - Richland County, South Carolina Sheriff Leon Lott has put out a request for the public's help locating an elderly man who went missing in Gadsden.

William Sumter, 83, was last seen last Thursday driving down Goodwin Way in Gadsden around 8:00 a.m.

He was driving his 2000 silver Chevy Impala with SC license plate MLV278.

Sumter is described as 5'6" tall and about 175 lbs. He is bald with brown eyes.

According to the statement, Sumter is said to suffer from multiple serious medical conditions which require daily medication. The medication he needs was left at home before his disappearance.

Police say family members have not seen or heard from William since his disappearance and are greatly concerned.

Sheriff Lott is asking anyone with information on the whereabouts of William to please call Crimestoppers at 1-888-274-6372.
