CHARLOTTE, N.C. - In a new list published by Business Insider on Wednesday, Charlotte is listed as number five out of the top 10 most popular cities to live in for 2017.
The ranking, established by popular real-estate website Realtor.com, is based on three metrics; including migration ratio between metro areas, popularity on their website, and overall population growth.
Charlotte's fifth-ranked numbers include a 4.4 percent increase in population year-over-year, as well as a high migration ratio, of five new inhabitants moving to the Queen city for every four that leave.
Charlotte is consitently praised on the Internet for it's growth in recent years, as well as it's aesthetic beauty and millennial-friendly social scene.
The top spot on the list, as well as on many other lists of most desirable cities, is Austin, Texas.
Other cities that made the top 10 include Phoenix, Arizona, Portland Oregon, and Las Vegas, Nevada.
