CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- As Halloween decorations and pumpkins are beginning to overtake stores in Charlotte, the North Lake Mall is getting into the Christmas spirit.
The mall has already begun prepping for the "Dreamwork's Dream place: Adventure to Santa". Mall officials say construction begins early because it takes close to a month to build.
"It takes the traditional photos with Santa to a whole other level," said North Lake Mall's Marketing Director Sherri Chisolm-Whiteside.
A level beyond the North Pole. December 2016 marks the second annual themed Santa's house. A trip to Santa's house this year will be Kung Fu Panda themed. The previous theme was Shrek.
"There's a reservation site where you can choose the day and time you want to see Santa, and then there's no long lines or waits for you, you just go right in," Chisolm-Whiteside said.
Online registration begins Tuesday. Opening day is November 4th.
"The whole family can play the games together, take the sleigh ride together, then take the picture with Santa together."
It is free to meet Santa and go through the four-room house which has LED video screens and simulators. Pictures will cost extra.
