CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Firefighters rescued a dog during a two-alarm fire in south Charlotte Friday morning.
According to Charlotte Fire Department, emergency crews responded to a fire at the Quail Valley on Carmel apartments around 6:30 a.m. When crews arrived on the scene, they found smoke and heavy flames showing from the building.
A neighbor told NBC Charlotte that the home that caught fire was a two-story townhouse.
Officials say it took a team of over 40 firefighters about 30 minutes to extinguish the blaze. No injuries were reported by officials.
"It's a family. They have kids. I know they have at least two kids, I think," said Bobbi Holliday. "So, first thought any time something like this happens is, I hope everybody's okay."
