CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Southwest Airlines performed an emergency landing in Charlotte following a three-hour departure delay.

The airline company released the following statement to NBC Charlotte:

"Southwest Flight 620 from Philly to Tampa diverted to Charlotte after pilots discovered an 'Electrical odor.' There was no smoke in the cabin. No injuries reported and all passengers will move onto their destination on the next available flight."

Southwest Airlines did not clarify what an electrical odor is.
