1. Investigators release eye cancer findings in Huntersville

Residents hoping they might finally get some answers as to why ocular cancer is disproportionally affecting people in Huntersville were disappointed Monday night.

“It’s just hard to believe that there’s not a common thread here. I just keep thinking they need to do more,” Mecklenburg County Commissioner Pat Cotham said.

The illness sickens five in 1,000,000 each year. Yet, it has been diagnosed in at least 18 people in Huntersville in the last four years. Researchers released their findings Monday night, studying the air, water, and land-related issues. They reported some toxic releases in the water and air, but they didn’t find anything that can be directly attributed to the cause of this rare cancer. Click here to continue reading.

Ramirez took the woman in. She fed her, let her take a shower and gave her clean clothes. However, the next day when Ramirez got home from work, she learned a valuable lesson the hard way.

"I looked around and my jewelry was gone, my TV,” said Ramirez. “I had one of these make-up machines that my mother had ordered for me and it was gone. The only person who knew what I had was that girl. She was in my house." Click here to continue reading.
