CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Funeral arrangements have been scheduled for Keith Lamont Scott for Friday in Charleston.

Murray's Mortuary announced Scott's funeral service will be held at the First Baptist of James Island at 11 a.m.

Scott died on September 20 after he was shot by a CMPD officer near his home in northeast Charlotte. Scott's death sparked protests and riots throughout Charlotte, resulting in over a hundred arrests by Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.

Murray's Mortuary website says Scott is the beloved husband of Rakeyia Scott, father of seven children and grandfather of two children. They ask condolences be sent to the family through their website.
