CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A man was shot and killed Thursday in northwest Charlotte on his 39th birthday.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police responded to a call on Thomasboro Drive a little after 9:30 p.m. Upon arrival, officers said they found 39-year-old Antwain Maurice Price with an apparent gunshot wound.
Price was pronounced dead by Medic. However, officials said evidence shows that he may have been shot in another location.
"We do believe he ran up to this location," CMPD officials said. "We obviously want to find out the originating point. Where was that? Where did the conflict take place?"
The homicide marks the 86th homicide in Charlotte of 2017.
