CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The morning fog has lifted and skies are now clear in Charlotte with afternoon temperatures in the low to mid 60s.

Wednesday night will be colder with low temperatures in the mid 30s.

On Thanksgiving Day expect mostly sunny skies with highs in the low 50s.

Busiest travel day of the year

At 6 a.m. the Charlotte airport reports there were no delays at the airport, but travelers are urged to check with the airline on the flight status.

The holidays might bring out the best in people but holiday travel can bring out the worst.

"Horrible," said one passenger.

The traffic is inside and outside but no matter the wheels, the airport is full of all the feels.

"It's so hectic, I've never seen so many people in my life!"

It's bound to happen with 100,000 people passing through Charlotte Douglas on a daily basis during this holiday weekend.

TSA suggests arriving two hours prior to your flight, they also recommend you check your bag after packing it for any firearms.

TSA officials have already recovered 58 firearms at checkpoints in 2017.
