CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- There were safety concerns at the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport after someone called in threatening to shoot people.

"I can't live my life in fear. I can't do it," said native New Yorker Henry Bennudriti.

He was at the World Trade Center on 9/11 and could have been killed that day.

"It's not my time I guess," he said.

He was at the Charlotte airport Tuesday to drop off his daughter.  He didn't know that just a few hours earlier there was fear flying through the air.  Monday evening, airport officials received a call from a person threatening to shoot people.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police rushed to the scene and checked the airport.  Crews searched everything from baggage claim to the parking decks, but did not find a suspicious person or vehicle.

Anyone with any information is asked to call CMPD.
