CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Basketball isn't the only Carolina tradition in the spotlight today.

In Randolph Park, Saturday was also about helping kids.

This is the sixth year of Cookies for Kids' Cancer 5k, Fun Run and Bake Sale, an event started by Abbey Rogers, a Myers Park High School student, to raise money after her young neighbor was diagnosed with cancer.

It has been passed down to her sister Emily, then the baton went down to other Myers Park students -- now that both Abbey and Emily are off to college.

Cookies for Kids' Cancer has now raised more than $100,000 to fund clinical trials for pediatric cancer research.
