UNION COUNTY, N.C. -- The Union County Sheriff’s Office is searching for two men who they believe are behind a string of robberies at McDonald’s.
According to a release, the latest robbery happened at a McDonald’s in Wesley Chapel when two masked men robbed the fast food restaurant at gunpoint around 4 a.m. Monday.
Officials said the two suspects are also suspected in a robbery at a McDonald’s in Monroe over the weekend and another robbery at a McDonald’s in Wingate last September.
Deputies said one of the men is believed to be about 6-feet tall and the other is about 6-foot-2.
In the latest robbery in Wesley Chapel, deputies said one man used a yellow bar to bust the glass on the door to get into the store. The other man is suspected of using a dark-colored, semi-auto handgun to order the manager to open the safe and empty it out.
