CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. -- A tractor-trailer carrying "chicken waste" spilled on the eastbound lanes of I-40 near the Hickory-area town of Long View.
Officials tell NBC Charlotte the spill, which reportedly happened near 33rd Street Southwest around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, is expected to cause delays on I-40 east overnight.
North Carolina State Highway Patrol says one lane of Sweet Bay Lane is closed.
State troopers are investigating the cause of the spill.
