HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. -- Two people were transported to the hospital after a fiery, multi-vehicle collision on northbound I-77 early Saturday morning.
Huntersville Fire Tweeted images just after 3 a.m. showing the fiery crash. The Tweet stated that the accident occurred near exit 23. The crash was a head-on collision.
Huntersville Fire Department crews were on scene for over an hour working to clear the scene and debris from the crash.
I-77 northbound lanes are beginning to reopen following the crash, heavy traffic can still be expected in that area.
There is no word on the condition of the two individuals transported to the hospital at this time.
Police have not declared a cause of this crash.
