CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A school bus involved crash occurred Tuesday morning, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools say.

There were 17 students on board, CMS says.

Medic transported two patients to Charlotte Medical Center where they were treated for minor injuries. According to CMS, one of the patients transported to the hospital was the school bus driver.

The accident occurred on Airport Drive and West Boulevard in Charlotte.

A green SUV was involved in the accident with the school bus. Some of the children's guardians were on scene shortly after the accident.

The school bus was en route to Marie G. Davis Middle School when the accident happened. It was the second incident Tuesday morning that involved a bus headed towards the middle school. Another bus with six children caught on fire. The children and driver were able to evacuate safely.

The scene was cleared around 9:40 a.m. Tuesday.
