1 hospitalized after car slams into north Charlotte hotel

Medic says one person was rushed to the hospital after a car slammed into a hotel in north Charlotte.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Medic says one person was rushed to the hospital after a car slammed into a north Charlotte hotel Friday night.

Medic responded to a call of an accident involving a structure in the 6000 block of University Pointe Boulevard. The car ran through the glass front door and into the lobby of Holiday Inn Express and Suites.

The person hospitalized is being treated for injuries that are believed to be not life-threatening.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police says no one was in the lobby at the time of the crash.

As of Friday night, officials did not say if the driver is being charged for the crash.
