CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. -- A man was taken into custody following a high speed chase in Catawba County.
The pursuit ended Tuesday in the 2200 block of Edna Street in Catawba. Sheriff's deputies said 28-year-old Ryan Farley ran away into the woods and was later caught.
Investigators told NBC Charlotte, along the way, Farley dropped more than two ounces of crack and cocaine.
Farley is facing a long list of charges: trafficking in cocaine by possession, trafficking in cocaine by transport, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, maintain a dwelling controlled substance, fleeing to elude arrest with a motor vehicle, reckless driving, driving while license revoked and resisting a public officer.
"Ryan Farley continues to be the focus of not only our drug division but our road patrol as well. The road deputies who were involved in this traffic stop, seizure and arrest have been very proactive in the Catawba area due to the large amount of drug activity and complaints phoned in to our drug tip line," said Jason C. Reid with the Catawba County Sheriff's Office.
Farley was taken to the Catawba County Detention Center on a $400,000 bond.
