MOUNT HOLLY, N.C. -- A man police said was part of in a possible road rage incident earlier this month in Mount Holly has died.

Investigators said Kenneth Dean Nash died at Carolinas Medical Center on May 15. The incident happened around 11:30 a.m. on May 4.

Officers said Nash was one of two drivers involved in the situation that took place on Mountain Island Highway near Hartis Way. Police said Nash got out of his vehicle with a gun, and the other driver hit Nash and his SUV with a dump truck.

Nash was rushed to the hospital where he died days later; the dump truck driver was not hurt. A handgun was found at the scene, according to police.

Investigators determined no charges would be filed in this case.
