Steph Curry adds $10,000 to Colin Kaepernick's 10-day donation initiative

The collaborative effort is the final part of Colin Kaepernick's $1 million pledge that he's spread over the course of a year, donating to organizations dedicated to social justice. This 10-day effort will be the final $100,000 portion.

Day 3 of Colin Kaepernick's 10-day donation initiative featured another high-profile NBA star supporting the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback.

Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry donated $10,000 on Friday as part of Kaepernick's fundraising drive. Kaepernick is donating $10,000 a day to a non-profit organization, and celebrities are matching Kaepernick's daily donation.

Curry chose the San Francisco-based organization United Playaz, which works to prevent youth from entering or re-entering the justice system.

Kaepernick posted a Twitter video Friday morning that featured Curry.

"I think it's amazingly important and powerful what Colin Kaepernick is doing — putting his money where his mouth is," Curry said on the video, "and actually reaching out to the community with the resources we have, to better the lives of (those in) the community."

The collaborative effort is the final part of Kaepernick's $1 million pledge that he's spread over the course of a year, donating to organizations dedicated to social justice. This 10-day effort will be the final $100,000 portion. Kaepernick and his foundation have now reached $930,000 of his $1 million mission.

Curry and Durant were joined by Grey's Anatomy actor Jesse Williams, who matched Kaepernick's donation to the Advancement Project in Washington, D.C., on the second day of the initiative.
